My name is Russ Ault, the owner of Veteran Disc Golf. In addition to that, I'm a: father, veteran, artist, graphic designer, outdoorsman, disc golfer, gamer of boards & videos, laughter enthusiast, and emotional support human for a cat & two dogs. My journey to graphic design started in 2010 when I took a drawing class and discovered the power of expression through art. I started with charcoal sticks, dabbled in painting, and fell in love with printmaking. After years of being a father and starving artist, I decided to dive into the digital side of things...graphic design. After four years of accumulating a variety of design knowledge at Portland State University, I believe I am a versatile designer capable of any task I set my mind to. That being said, my strengths are in what I enjoy doing most: ideation, illustration, typography, branding, and visual storytelling.

PSUgd's Rodeo class working on design projects for the school. This was created for the Mentorship Program that paired sophomores with upperclassmen to help them with their Sophomore Portfolio Review to continue on in the program. The theme for this year was based on famous movie mentor/mentees in a rough/sketched/bad photoshop style. This is my lightsaber pen illustration.
